COMPTON, Calif. – Compton residents report finding a half dozen cars dumped in a canal in Compton.
“Cars are stripped then dumped in this canal,” said the resident who refused to be identified. “There are six of them stretching from Home Depot to Greenleaf.”
The resident reports they have been there for a week.

Newly elected Sheriff Robert Luna hasn’t made any public appearances in Compton since being elected.
His priorities include reestablishing public trust in the areas deputies serve.
Compton was one of the more vocal contract cities dissatisfied with the performance of the Sheriff’s department to curb crime in the city.
This past Sunday a well-known pastor held a special church service for deputies out of the Compton station that made news headlines for having deputy gangs and alleging fraudulently billing the City on their law enforcement contract.
Many residents gave Sheriff Luna a pass for not being in attendance saying “he can’t be everywhere” and why should he just show up for photo ops.
Isn’t that part of his job?
