My best friend died giving birth last night at Centinela hospital due to medical neglect. She and her bf complained for hours to the nurses that she could not feel her legs and they told her they could not call the doctors bc they would get upset. Now my best friend is dead bro

According to April’s best friend Cheyenne Ne’Shay, April complained for hours about experiencing numbness in her legs.
April is an alumni of Dorsey High School Class of 2013 and a graduate of Cal State Northridge.
Neither the hospital nor April’s family have issued any formal statements on her death.
She is not listed on the County Medical Examiner’s website so the cause of death is unknown at this time.
A protest is scheduled in front of the hospital Tuesday, Jan. 17 at 3:30 p.m.
We send our heartfelt condolences to April’s family and friends.

Years ago, as I had a family member admitted there on an emergency, I saw a pregnant woman complaining of stomach pains and begging to be seen. She writhed in pain on the floor. After numerous complaints from her and I went unanswered by the admitting staff, she left to seek care elsewhere. The community needs this hospital, but we deserve better care than this!
This is tragic. Whoever issues the directive to not call or they will be upset, they should loose their medical license. No female should be dying in something as routine as childbirth. And shame on the nurses for not contacting ANYBODY who could possibly help this poor mama that will never see her child
