DOWNEY, Calif. – A man is in custody after crashing his vehicle at the end of a police pursuit, according to authorities.
The man is alleged to have gotten into a physical dispute with a woman on the side of a freeway at around 12:30 a.m.
California Highway Patrol officers responded to several 911 calls for a Black Chevy Camaro parked on the southbound side of the I-605 freeway who was reportedly assaulting a woman.
Once units arrived, the suspect fled the scene and after a brief chase, CHP units lost sight of the vehicle.
The suspect later plowed into a pickup truck at the Florence Ave. offramp.
The female driver of the truck was transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
The suspect was taken into custody on multiple charges ranging from domestic violence to felony evading arrest.
