PALMDALE, Calif. – A man and woman found dead in the parking lot of a Palmdale supermarket were identified Wednesday, and the investigation was continuing to determine their causes of death.
The discovery was made around 3:15 p.m. Sunday in the 400 block of East Palmdale Boulevard, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Michael Pittman.
The original call for help was for an unconscious person, Pittman said.
The deaths were believed accidental drug overdoses. No foul play was suspected.
The Los Angeles County coroner’s office identified the pair as Juan Ramon Ramos Toscano, 56, and Brigette Valtierra, 48, both of whom were homeless. Their cause of death was listed by the coroner’s office as “deferred pending additional investigation.”
A news videographer at the scene said the woman was found on the driver’s side inside a Toyota Sienna and the man was found outside the van on the passenger side.
