RIVERSIDE, Calif. – A 34-year-old man died after he was struck by a car while walking in a Riverside street, authorities said Monday.
The crash occurred about 11 p.m. Sunday on Tyler Avenue just south of Hole Avenue, according to Riverside police Sgt. James Elliott.
A 25-year-old Riverside resident was driving a 2001 Lincoln sedan southbound on Tyler Street when it struck the pedestrian, Elliott said.
“The pedestrian was transported to Riverside Community Hospital however lifesaving measures were unsuccessful,” he said.
The pedestrian’s name was not released pending notification of relatives, Elliott said.
The motorist was not injured and was cooperating with the Riverside Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team, he said.
