SANTA ANA, Calif. – A 26-year-old man was charged Wednesday with possessing child pornography in Santa Ana.
Ricardo Adrian Juarez-Pacheco was charged with single felony counts each of possessing or controlling child pornography and having images of a child engaged in sexual conduct brought into the state, according to court records.
Juarez-Pacheco did not enter a plea at his arraignment Wednesday. He is scheduled to be arraigned Dec. 16 in the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana.
A civilian investigator on the Santa Ana Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force found evidence that the defendant was allegedly downloading and distributing child pornography, police said.
Investigators served a search warrant at his residence in the 1900 block of East Avalon Avenue on Tuesday and collected multiple electronic devices, police said.
The defendant was ordered held on $20,000 bail.
