LOS ANGELES – The 19-year-old daughter of the late actor Kristoff St. John has dropped her suit against the former daytime star’s first wife that focused on a dispute over $1 million in life insurance proceeds.
Plaintiff Lola St. John was born during the actor’s second marriage to Allana Nadal. Kristoff St. John was previously married to Mia St. John and both marriages ended in divorce.
Lola St. John’s attorneys filed court papers on Dec. 16 with Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Kevin C. Brazile asking that the case filed in October 2019 be dismissed “with prejudice,” meaning it cannot be refiled later.
The court papers do not state whether a settlement was reached or if the plaintiff was not pursuing the case for other reasons. In their court papers, lawyers for Mia St. John denied any wrongdoing on the part of their 55- year-old client, whose background includes being a boxer, taekwondo champion, model, and businesswoman.
As part of the divorce settlement between the actor and Nadal, Kristoff St. John agreed to provide a life insurance policy with a $1 million death benefit naming Lola St. John as the beneficiary, the suit states.
However, at some point after the Kristoff St. John-Nadal divorce became final, the actor changed the beneficiary on the insurance policy from his daughter to Mia St. John, according to the suit.
Kristoff St. John died of heart disease in February 2019 at age 52. The suit alleges that on the date of the actor’s death, Mia St. John took numerous financial records belonging to him, including information on the life insurance policy.
Nadal asked Mia St. John to turn over information on the life insurance policy, but she refused, the suit alleges.
Kristoff St. John was best known for playing Neil Winters on the CBS daytime soap opera “The Young and the Restless” from 1991 until his death. He won two Daytime Emmy Awards from 11 nominations, and 10 NAACP Image Awards.
