LOS ANGELES – A fire on the second floor of a four-plex in South Los Angeles was contained in 29 minutes by 40 firefighters Tuesday evening with no injuries reported.
The fire in the 1100 block of W.. 43rd St., was reported at 10:26 p.m. Firefighters encountered flames coming from two units at the two-story building, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.
Firefighters had to battle through smoke and excessive storage conditions that created entry challenges before they were able to put out the flames, Stewart said.
