This is one of the first meetings de Leon has attended since the resignation of former Councilwoman Nury Martinez after an audio leaked of a racially charged meeting attended by Martinez, de Leon, Gil Cedillo, and former LA Fed president Ron Hererra was made public in early October.
The audio included disparaging remarks about minorities.
Today’s council agenda includes farewells by outgoing council members.
Next Tuesday, Dec. 13, new council members will be seated: Hugo Soto-Martinez, Eunisses Hernandez, and Katy Yarolslavsky.
Mayor-Elect Karen Bass will be sworn into office Dec. 10.
