COMPTON, Calif. – A man was fatally shot Wednesday in Compton, but the circumstances of the crime remained unclear.
The shooting occurred at about 2:10 p.m. in the 1400 block of Long Beach Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Sheriff’s officials said the shooting was not reported to authorities until about 3 p.m., and responding crews pronounced the man dead at the scene.
The man’s name was not immediately released. There was also no immediate information on what may have led to the shooting, or on a possible suspect.
