IRVINE, Calif. – Two people have been found dead on the UC Irvine campus, said authorities.
Authorities responded to a 911 call around 4 p.m. and found the bodies of a man and a woman who are related.
In a statement provided by UCI police, the man was a former student, and it is unknown if the woman is affiliated with the university.
“At such a time, our primary thoughts are with the victims and their families,” Chancellor Howard Gillman said in a statement. “But there are also members of the UCI community who have been contacted to assist with the investigation and to share their knowledge of what may have happened.”
The University of California, Irvine is a public land-grant research university in Irvine with a total enrollment of over 36,000.
