LOS ANGELES – A woman was hospitalized Monday for treatment of a gunshot wound she suffered while sitting in her pickup in the Boyle Heights area of Los Angeles.
The shooting occurred at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday in the area of Mission Road and First Street, according to Officer D. Orris of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.
The victim heard gunshots while seated in her truck and “noticed she was struck,” Orris said. She didn’t see who shot her.
Paramedics took the woman to a hospital where she had stable vital signs, he said.
A news videographer at the scene said an LAPD helicopter located two possible suspects on the First Street Bridge and they were taken into custody.
