MONROVIA, Calif. – A tow truck driver suffered a medical emergency and crashed into the center divider Saturday on the Foothill (210) Freeway in Monrovia.
A California Highway Patrol dispatcher initially reported the driver had died, but the driver actually was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to a hospital, CHP Officer Stephen Brandt told City News Service.
The crash was first reported by a witness at 1:48 p.m. on the eastbound Foothill Freeway at the Mountain Avenue off-ramp.
A witness told the CHP good Samaritans gave the driver CPR until firefighters arrived, according to the agency’s online log.
A description of the driver was not immediately available.
