LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE, Calif. – A man was killed Saturday morning when he was struck by a truck on a roadway next to the Foothill (210) Freeway in La Canada Flintridge, authorities said.
The death was reported at 10:14 a.m. when a witness told the California Highway Patrol that a person was lying in the slow lane of southbound Ocean View Boulevard next to the freeway off-ramp.
The man reportedly ran into the street into the path of the truck, CHP Officer Stephan Brandt said. The truck driver remained at the scene.
The type of truck was not available, Brandt said. The CHP was investigating the fatality since it was in an unincorporated area.
Traffic on Ocean View Boulevard was shut down in both directions at 12:22 p.m. The lanes were re-opened at 1:53 p.m., the CHP reported.
