Inglewood mayor evading being served court papers

INGLEWOOD, Calif. – Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts Jr. is evading being served court papers in an legal matter.

We are in receipt of documents detailing the Sheriff’s department has tried unsuccessfully to reach him on three separate occasions throughout the month of October at his city hall office.

This could explain why city hall is on lockdown and residents are unable to attend city council meetings inside of council chambers due to the monthly extension of teleconferencing under AB 361.

The Nov. 1 regular city council meeting was cancelled with a special meeting being scheduled for today with the only item being closed session.

The mayor is currently up for re-election and is facing five challengers. This go round he is missing the endorsements of the multiple billionaires occupying the sports and entertainment district.

They have made small contributions to his campaign coffers.

Who is the mayor dodging?

  1. Council are cowards on November 5, 2022 9:10 pm

Canceling the city council meeting right before the election is so typical of this council. They eliminate any opportunity for residents to ask them election related questions. Cowards.

The position became full-time before Butts was elected but he has turned the City into his personal kingdom. Have you heard his radio ads on KJLH? Why does he think we gonna listen to Shaq or LL Cool J? Where Snoop at? I guess now that he got what he wanted Butts can kick rocks.

      • Our neighbor’s experience is not the same of the Millionaires on November 4, 2022 2:20 pm

Perhaps he thinks we are tired of his pleasing the rich White Billionaires and wants us to believe the young black millionaires are pleased to be in his company….News flash non of the. Have to deal with the horrific traffic pollution, routine insults, or the threat of arrest for not saying happy things about the foolish four who gave up their souls for the full time pay they should never have awarded. Yes the vote that provided that income resulted in a later vote to reverse the increase which the council simply chose to ignore.

Shaq and LL live NO WHERE NEAR INGLEWOOD!! How can they even remotely know the day-to-day challenges Inglewood residents experience. Let’s start with accountability and transparency. Not listening to Butts “friends”.
