GARDENA, Calif. – A man was violently arrested by Gardena police officers for allegedly “resisting” a parking ticket.
It is not known when the incident occurred, however, the narrator describes the non-English speaking man resisting a parking ticket due to not understanding English.
According to the video the man was picking up his daughter from school when an encounter with parking enforcement went sideways.
Parking enforcement called for the police who violently arrested the man by throwing him to the ground, with his daughter visibly crying throughout the ordeal.
The video also shows the officers with their knee on his upper back, very close to his neck, which drew comparisons to the George Floyd situation by the woman recording.
The video was posted to the Gardena Police departments Facebook page.
“Just for clarification, there were a few GPD personnel on scene who spoke Spanish. If you would like context to this stop and arrest, please call Capt. Vince Osorio at 310-217-6188. Thanks,” wrote the moderator of the page.
When another commenter “thanked” them for their service, the woman who posted the video responded, “Did you not see the video? They are using excessive force against Mexicans”.
