Fund Your Education by Attending the ‘Cash for College’ Fair at Compton College Dec. 3

COMPTON, Calif. – Compton College will host a “Cash for College” Fair on Saturday, December 3 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Little Theater (Building Y). This event includes an in-depth presentation on financial aid options and hands-on assistance with financial aid applications.

Local high school seniors, foster youth, and college-bound students are encouraged to apply for financial aid to get cash for college! A variety of aid is available for all income levels. Whether or not you think you are eligible, all students are encouraged to apply for financial aid each year.

Parents and students are invited to the Cash for College Fair where there will be free assistance and expert guidance with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), California Dream Act (CADAA), and Chafee applications. Information will also be provided for non-resident (AB 540) students. Assistance and presentations will be held in English and Spanish.

The “Cash for College” event is open to the public and students should have their parents attend with them. To prepare ahead of time, students and/or parents should create a Federal Student Aid  (FSA) ID by visiting https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/launch.

Those attending are asked to bring their driver’s license, Social Security number or permanent resident card, alien registration card (if applicable), individual taxpayer identification card (if applicable), a parent’s social security number, if applicable; their 2021 federal income tax return or W-2 forms; and public assistance aid information (TANF, SNAP, SSI, Unemployment and/or General Relief). Applicants may complete the 2023-2024 FAFSA or CADAA using 2021 income tax information.

Compton College is located at 1111 E. Artesia Blvd., Compton CA 90221. Free parking for this event will be available in Parking Lot A, from the Artesia Boulevard entrance.
