With the new release of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever the Disneyland Resort has created a new experience for its guests at Disney California Adventure featuring new food and show.
Flavors of Wakanda
Indulge in delectable food offerings that represent the ‘Flavors of Wakanda’ where Chef Kamilah Robinson brings Wakanda to life through new dishes that will not disappoint.
“When we started the idea of preparing food for Wakanda we did our research and brought those flavors to our depiction of Wakanda,” said Chef Kamilah. “The contrast of the colors in the tea is based on the flower from the first Black Panther movie.”
You can try these new offerings at the Avenger Campus which features a Peri-Peri Chicken dish paired with Yellow Jollof Rice.
Or you can enjoy the Roasted Pork Wrap filled with Spiced Pork, Black Garlic Sauce and Chermoula. Wash it down with the Butterfly Pea Tea Lemonade.
Now that you have your food squared away, walk over to the Kingdom of Wakanda at the Black Panther Celebration Garden to take in the new show featuring M’Baku, one of Wakanda’s greatest warriors and chieftain of the Jabari Clan. M’Baku will invite recruits to join in “The Way of the Jabari,” an all-new experience that will share some of the culture of the Jabari Clan.
“This moment that we’ve created at the Avenger Campus because there’s so much meaning behind the film and there’s a lot of heart and soul in it,” said Paul David Bryant, show director. “M’Baku, the character himself, is just absolutely amazing because there’s something about his strength and his heart that he brings with him.”
“We’ve created a moment where it comes out of nowhere and the audience isn’t going to expect it,” said Bryant.
Bryant and Michael Serna, the show’s Executive Creative Director, work closely with the filmmakers to ensure they are telling an authentic story that coincides with the film and are remaining true to the character, dialect, and imagery.
Bryant was able to put the show together in four weeks and it’s an amazing show that you must see when you visit the resort. Click here for a sneak peek!
