My name is James King and I am the Vice-President at Infini-D Learning. With the release of our country’s most recent NAEP scores, I believe there’s critical work to be done. If Black students are to benefit positively from the impact of long-term labor market trends, we have to find an urgent course of action to get our students back on track and accelerate their learning. Future economic prosperity for our community and its ability to thrive successfully in the workplace depends on what we do to support and prepare students, not now, but right now!
I have the pleasure of working with a group of young Software Engineers, Content Creators and Educators that have developed a supplemental gamified problem-based STEM Assessment Tool. The Infini-D Learning platform is designed to re-engage students and get them excited about learning.
Infini-D is a program funded by the National Science Foundation that lets you run virtual interactive missions with the whole class plays together (i.e., Magic School Bus meets Star Trek) and provides comprehensive data on their performance. These simulations help students with soft life skills like collaboration and effective communication. It also connects the ‘why’ of learning Math and Science by focusing on real problem solving. Unlocking the process of engineering and scientific critical thinking practice.
Experience with the Infini-D Learning platform may result in long term positive outcomes such as the reward of gaining knowledge. Illuminating an internal flame of intrinsic value and self-awareness. Helping develop a sense of belonging and encouraging students to accel through the K-12 school system on an elevated trajectory. Improve High School graduation rates. Better preparation for college, career and subsequently the skills to adapt to the shifting winds of economic change. Building capacity to increase civic duty participation, help improve social awareness, better decision-making and overall positive engagement in the rebuilding of our communities.
