LANCASTER, Calif. – Authorities Thursday identified a 40-year-old woman who was killed when a vehicle went off the side of a Lancaster freeway.
Maricelia Valenzuela was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office.
The solo-vehicle crash was reported at about 3 p.m. Friday on the northbound side of the Antelope Valley (14) Freeway, just north of West Avenue L, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP reported the vehicle came to a stop near a car dealership north of West Avenue L. KTLA5 reported the car struck a parked truck before landing on its side in the parking lot of a Chevrolet dealership.
The CHP could not immediately confirm the details.
No other injuries were immediately reported.
Valenzuela died of blunt force traumatic injuries sustained in the crash.
