WHITTIER, Calif. – The coroner’s office Monday released the name of a 74- year-old man who was found dead on the porch of his home in an unincorporated area south of Whittier following an argument with a neighbor.
An autopsy was pending to determine the cause of David Stanley’s death, the coroner’s office said.
Detectives were sent to the 16100 block of Marlinton Drive at 8:45 p.m. Saturday, according to Lt. Hugo Reynaga of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
They found Stanley on the porch of the residence, suffering from apparent head trauma, said Deputy Tracy Koerner of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
He was first discovered by his adult son, who heard a disturbance on the porch and went outside to investigate, Koerner said. The man had apparently been arguing with a neighbor prior to the disturbance.
Paramedics pronounced Stanley dead at the scene.
A man in his late 20s was questioned but not arrested, Koerner said.
