LOS ANGELES – A man in his 20s was fatally shot Monday on the Metro A (Blue) Line tracks in the unincorporated Florence-Firestone area between South Los Angeles and South Gate.
The shooting was reported just after 4:25 p.m. in the 8600 block of Graham Avenue, near Firestone Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies from Transit Services Bureau responded to Metro’s Firestone Station and upon their arrival found the victim lying on the northbound tracks suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
According to investigators, the shooting does not appear to be a random attack
The man was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. His name was withheld pending notification of his next of kin.
No suspect description was immediately available.

Is this why the Metro A line was shut down all evening between 103rd Watts and Florence? Wonder if the shooting happened on the train?
It sounds like it was on the street where you get off the train on firestone.
