INGLEWOOD, Calif. – A man was shot in Inglewood after officers responded to a call at the U.S. Vets housing complex.

An officer-involved shooting occurred in the 700 block of S. Hindry Avenue late Saturday night, when Inglewood police were called to the area to investigate multiple ‘shots fired’ reports.
The officers responded around 11:30 p.m., due to reports a male suspect who was firing a gun.
Video from the scene indicates the suspect and officers fired multiple rounds inside the 600-bed transitional housing facility.
Upon arrival, IPD located a suspect matching the description and set up a containment around the apartment complex.
During officer’s approach to detain the suspect, who was armed, an officer-involved shooting occurred.
Life-saving measures were initiated by IPD after the shooting.
The condition of the suspect is unknown at this time.
This is the second officer-involved shooting in Inglewood in the last month.
Last month officers responded to a call of a man acting erratic in a neighborhood near city hall. When officers arrived the man got into a tussle with the officers and was able to remove the officer’s gun from his holster.
The suspect was able to fire a round at officers, who then returned fire killing him.
