A pedestrian was fatally wounded after being struck by two vehicles in the Harbor Gateway community, yesterday evening.Â
The incident occurred shortly after 7 p.m. near the intersection of 223rd St and Normandie Ave.
The victim, approximately 32-40, was walking Northbound in the Southbound lanes of the street when he was struck by a vehicle that was traveling southbound.
The driver of the vehicle stopped to render aid when a second vehicle came along and struck the downed pedestrian.
The second vehicle fled the scene.
The first driver rendered aid to the victim until LAFD arrived. He was pronounced deceased on scene.
LAPD South Traffic Division is handling the investigation.
