INGLEWOOD – Social Justice Learning Institute (SJLI) invites residents to attend a community visioning meeting on providing more affordable housing opportunities in the city of Inglewood on Friday, Oct. 14 at Rogers Park in the city of Inglewood.
The goal is to hear from the community on their vision for housing they can afford and provide valuable input on what it should entail.
“There’s no doubt Inglewood is changing and growing and the goal is to make sure that the people who have been here historically can continue to grow with it,” said Derek Steele, executive director of SJLI. “There are resources out there like the $100M commitment from the Clippers that if stewarded correctly, can help make that happen.”
“No one resident, community organization, or local business on their own has the single solution,” explains Steele. “It’s gonna take all of us coming together to develop solutions which is why we need folks to come out and help us create our Home Court Advantage.”
The first meeting will be hosted by Social Justice Learning Institute and Venice Community Housing at Roger’s Park which is located at 400 W. Beach Blvd, Inglewood, CA 90302 and will begin at 5:30PM.
SJLI will also host three additional community visioning meetings which we will make sure you have the dates for.
Attendees can RSVP for the Oct. 14 meeting here.
