WESTCHESTER, Calif.- A 30-year-old man is in the hospital Wednesday after he was rescued by firefighters in Westchester.
Fire crews responded at 12:38 a.m. to 5927 W. Imperial Highway, a FedEx Express Hub, where they pulled the victim from the fuel tank of a commercial cargo plane where he was performing maintenance work, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.
The man was taken to a hospital in an unknown condition.
Five additional patients were evaluated at the scene and were not expected to require hospital treatment, Stewart said.
