SUN VALLEY, Calif. – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a train in Sun Valley Friday evening.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics were called at 7:16 p.m. to the area of 9449 San Fernando Road, near Sheldon Street, on reports of the collision and found the person down on the train tracks, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Paramedics pronounced the person dead at the scene. The victim’s name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
No one on the train was injured, and the cause of the collision is under investigation, Stewart said.
