LOS ANGELES – A 27-year-old man was fatally wounded early Monday when someone fired multiple shots at a vehicle in which he was a passenger, just blocks from a South Los Angeles police station.
The shooting was reported at 12:05 a.m. at Figueroa Street and Florence Avenue, according to a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.
Witnesses told officers they heard multiple gunshots fired in the area, he said.
The driver of the vehicle took his wounded passenger to the LAPD’s 77th Street Station, which was just blocks from the shooting, the officer said.
The passenger was pronounced dead at the police station, he said.
