LOS ANGELES – Authorities sought the public’s help Monday to find a hit-and-run motorist involved in a collision that killed a motorcyclist in the Mid-City area.
The crash occurred about 10:20 p.m. Sunday on Fairfax Avenue near the entrance to the Santa Monica (10) Freeway, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
“A black, four-door sedan was traveling northbound (on) Fairfax Avenue, negotiating a left turn onto the westbound 10 Freeway on-ramp, and crashed into a male who was riding a 2023 Kawasaki ZX-6R southbound Fairfax Avenue in the Number 2 traffic lane,” according to the LAPD.
The motorcyclist, in his 20s, died at the scene. Information on his identity was not immediately available.
A standing reward of up to $50,000 has been offered by the city of Los Angeles for help in solving a fatal hit and run. Anyone with information on the case was urged to call police at 213-473-0234, or Crime Stoppers at 800-222- TIPS.
