Good morning 2UrbanGirls,
I want to share an experience I had this past Saturday while attending Councilman Alex Padilla’s can food drive. I arrived with a bag full of can goods excited about giving back and meeting other community member who were there with the same intent. There were maybe 8 people there so I turned in my donation and walked to the group of people. I said hello and introduced myself as Fredrisha Dixon. Immediately, a man who later identified himself as Alex Padilla’s Assistant, Ramon Quinones, told me I could not be there.

I replied that it was a community event which was open to the public and I’m a community member, just like everyone else, so I could be there as well. He then exclaimed “This isn’t a political event so you can’t be here!”
2UrbanGirls, I didn’t have any campaign literature and I made no mention of the fact that I’m running for Mayor. I told him he can’t stop me from talking to other community members and he told me I could walk to the sidewalk and do what I want but I couldn’t be on the property of the District 2 Community Center.
Alex Padilla then walked over and asked what was happening because his Assistant had gotten loud. I informed Alex of what happened and he said, “It’s ok. Thank you for the can goods. Have a good day,” as he stood between his Assistant and I. All of this happened in front of the 8 community members who were present. I left because I didn’t want the Assistant to escalate his anger and intimidation.
I want to let our community know that these actions of our elected officials harassing, intimidating, and forcing community members who are running for office to leave public venues is against the law. I wasn’t passing out literature but had I been, it would be in alignment with the law.
I encourage all Inglewood residents to exercise their right to Vote this October and November 8th. Robert “Bobby” Brown is running for City Council District 2 and has the communities best interest at heart. It is important that we end this corrupt regime this election.
Thank you for hearing me out and sharing with the rest of our community. No one deserves to be made to feel the way Alex Padilla’s Assistant made me feel Saturday.
Fredrisha “Sha” Dixon
Candidate for Inglewood mayor

As I see her point, everyone please remember, there are always two sides to a story. I would first like to say, I was there at the event. I heard her promoting herself (running for mayor). He has a right to kick you off the premise, for you were promoting your campaign when it was a community event, not a campaign event. By all means, introduce yourself, but to talk about your intentions for running for mayor? Again, he most definitely has the right to politely tell you to leave because it was not a campaign event. If you weren’t listening? Well, of course, anyone would agitated. He didn’t put his hands on you nor use any aggression. But in my opinion, it looks worse on your behalf for attending this event to just promote yourself. Did you really even want to give food? Or did you just want more votes? Who knows… But to anyone reading this comment, don’t let politicians change your point of views based off of THEIR stories. Listen to other stories before making a solid opinion on someone. Alex Padilla and his team are wonderful. They have done more than any other counsel district by creating numerous community events, giving back to people in need, responding to citizen’s complaints on time, etc. Again, please do your research before believing to the first thing you read. Thank you all for reading, have a wonderful day!
I am not running for office, and when I called Alex Padilla office, the same assistant told me i was lying about a comment.i made, he is an asshole, I told the council member Padilla and he had him call me to apologize, I told Alex Padilla that is responsible for this man disrespecting his residents in his district. I never want to speak to him again, we taxpayers pay both of their salaries and he is responsible for his assistant and his actions.
Indeed Ramon has always felt as if the assorted “community events” held at tax payer expense and on tax payer property are HIS personal playgrounds to play CONTROLLER . It is a sad state of the city commentary that we pay each of the “council assistants” in excess of $ 100,000.00 to treat community members so inappropriately!
Clearly if it was not an extension of the council members attitude/behavior those councilmembers with half a lick of comman sense would send these abusive inconsiderate employees out the door with a pretty pink slip never to return again with the sick attitude of Lord of All. Sadly this aggressive unkind behavior mirrors the attitude of Inglewood’s current electeds.
It is time for each and everyone of the council members including the Mayor to be replaced, their political careers ended (not musical chaired to other positions involving tax dollars.) Perhaps then the Restoration of the concept of “By the people, for the people” complete with respecting the people and serving the people can become a reality.
Clearly Ramon’s direct Supervisor ,“The Council member” he represents , should have found a constituent friendly representative rather than a bully to fill this position from day one.
Heads up to Bobby Brown learn from Alex’s Mistake consider graciousness an essential character quality of your representative .
Ramon Quinones is also as big a POS as they come. His ex-wife left him because he was physically abusive and was sleeping with the neighbor. We need to vote all these corrupt people out of office.
