LOS ANGELES – An increase of one-tenth of a cent to $5.424 Friday extended the streak of increases to the average price of a gallon of self- serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County to 14 days.
The average price has increased 17.8 cents over the past 14 days, including a half-cent Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 7.2 cents more than one week ago, 4.4 cents higher than one month ago, and $1.025 greater than one year ago.
The average price is $1.038 less than the record high of $6.462 set June 14.
The Orange County average price dropped three-tenths of a cent to $5.384, one day after a 13-day streak of increases totaling 21.9 ended when it was unchanged. It is 7.6 cents more than one week ago, 12.2 cents higher than one month ago and $1.024 greater than one year ago.
The Orange County average price has dropped $1.026 since rising to a record $6.41 on June 12.
The national average price dropped for the 94th consecutive day since rising to a record, falling six-tenths of a cent to $3.692. It has dropped $1.324 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14.
The national average price is 4.6 cents less than one week ago and 25.7 cents lower than one month ago, but 50.1 cents more than one year ago.
