LOS ANGELES – Authorities Tuesday identified one of two men who were fatally shot in a possible gang-related attack in Montecito Heights.
The shooting occurred shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday near Homer Street and Avenue 43, said Officer Melissa Podany of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Officers were in the area when they heard gunshots, and they found the two men, who were pronounced dead at the scene, Podany said.
On Tuesday, the Los Angeles County coroner’s office identified one of the men as Luis Sanchez Jr., 38, who was from Los Angeles. The name of the other man, who was in his 20s, was withheld pending notification of his relatives.
No arrests were reported as of Tuesday afternoon, police said. No description was available of the suspect or suspects. Anyone with information on the crime was urged to call 877-LAPD-247.
