SANTA ANA, Calif. – A 7-year-old boy was struck and killed by a vehicle in Santa Ana, authorities said Monday.
The boy was crossing Rosita Street, north of the intersection of 7th Street, when he was struck by a southbound vehicle about 8:50 p.m. Sunday, the Santa Ana Police Department reported.
Officers located the child in the roadway, and paramedics rushed him to a hospital, where he died from his injuries, police said.
The motorist in the vehicle stayed at the crash scene and cooperated with police. Drugs or alcohol are not believed to have played a role in the crash, investigators said.
