PANORAMA CITY, Calif. – One person was killed and at least three others were injured in a shooting in Panorama City Wednesday with police searching for a male suspect who was last seen driving a newer-model BMW M3.
Jonathan Santillano, 37, of Sylmar was pronounced dead at the scene.
The shooting occurred just before 2:30 p.m. in the area of Parthenia Street and Tobias Avenue, near the Sepulveda Recreation Center, Officer Tony Im of the Los Angeles Police Department told City News Service.
Reports from the scene indicated authorities were called to the scene on what was initially reported as a traffic collision, but police could not immediately confirm if the reported crash was related to the shooting.
One person was killed in the shooting, while at least three others were taken to a hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds and were listed in stable condition. Events leading up to the shooting were under investigation.
