LOS ANGELES – At least six people were shot Sunday inside a bar in Boyle Heights, authorities said.
A suspect is in custody and all the victims are expected to survive their wounds, according to Officer Rosario Cervantes of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Section.
Officers were sent to the bar in the 2400 block of Whittier Boulevard at about 1 a.m. in response to a radio call of a shooting, Cervantes said. Paramedics took four people to hospitals, said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Cervantes said three additional victims took themselves to a hospital. She said four males and two females were shot.
Public directories list the business at 2471 Whittier Blvd. as the Holiday Bar. No further details were immediately available.
