LOS ANGELES – An two-day LAPD operation to crack down on illegal street takeovers has resulted in 40 arrests and dozens of impounded cars Thursday, according to media reports.
Fox 11 is reporting the LAPD conducted its operation on Friday and Saturday at various locations in Southern California.
The LAPD impounded 43 cars and issued 82 citations during the operation, Fox 11 reports. The LAPD told Fox 11 “numerous” street takeovers were stopped before they started during the operation. LAPD says that 22 street takeovers have been stopped in less than a week.
One of the people arrested was a felony suspect with an attempted murder warrant and another was suspected of felony hit and run. The LAPD says four people were arrested for gun charges.
