INGLEWOOD – Inglewood residents in a gated community adjacent to SoFi Stadium are selling their for record amounts despite being bombarded with an onslaught of traffic congestion and noise emanating from the stadium during events.
To make matters worse, a retention wall designed to drown out the noise was removed which makes living near the stadium unbearable (for some).
Residents aren’t able to take advantage of the booming short-term rental industry after a long awaited ordinance, regulating the industry was discussed by the city council during a June 28 public hearing, The homeowners association alleges the CC&R’s won’t allow Airbnb.

The gated community is home to several members of Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts’ inner circle, including a member of the city council who represents the area. Residents continue to cry foul over the lack of parking enforcement in the immediate area and the inconvenience to enter/exit during event days.

Adding the pressure of living next to the multi-billion dollar stadium is continuous construction at the Hollywood Park site, the incoming Intuit Dome, and proposed Inglewood Transit Connector.
Residents displeasure with the community go back to its inception which was covered by another site. When the homes were built in 2005 they were selling between $500k – $700k depending on floor plans and upgrades.

Prior to the community being built, the site was the home to Getty (Oil) Field where many children played little league baseball.
HOA fees are $248 per month with property records detailing liens have been placed on some homeowners for as little as less than $2,000 for failure to pay the monthly fees. The HOA also enforces strict parking guidelines during event days.

IT”S CALLED PROGRESS >>>PEOPLE !!!
I have lived in the same home for 60 years. Even when the Forum had events it was never congested like this. The city, mayor and all his puppets saw nothing but dollar signs. There was not enough thought or planning put into traffic control. Back in the day we had experienced traffic control officers directing the flow of traffic and I really don’t recall residents complaining. Today, we are prisoners in our own homes! Either you leave early in the morning and run your errands before game time or during the game. You definitely can’t go out when the game lets out. That’s a joke! Leaving early doesn’t necessarily mean that you won’t be in traffic around 9-10 am because the fans start coming in our community early and post up at the shopping centers on Century Blvd or in our neighborhood leaving trash and bottles everywhere. Unacceptable!!
It is my opinion and belief that residents were hung/caught up on their property value going up and the equity they would have or had and not looking at the bigger picture which is all the issues that we are faced with today.
It would behoove the City of Inglewood to revisit how traffic is controlled during events.
We were here before Sofi and now the new arena that is being built. No one cares about us! The only ones making money are the owners of the stadium, Forum, the mayor and all the rest of these crooks. I was never for the stadium coming to Inglewood. Everything that is taking place was a plan to remove old time residents so that other folk can come in and buy us out because they knew we would be fed up with the noise, traffic etc.
Everyone that holds a council member seat needs to go. Inglewood needs new blood to bring back normalcy and at the same time embracing reasonable change within our community.
Some people like a lot of action , hustle and bustle. some people like low key quiet atmosphere. If you want to move out, move out. But don’t complain about the traffic and noise when The Forum has been there for years, seems like you would have known about public events when you bought in.
Not true. When the homes were built in 2005 the Forum was closed to entertaining and the NFL was on nobody’s radar.
So Inglewood is no ghetto town anymoređź‘€
Over one Million dollars???? what a joke.
I wouldn’t live in Inglewood if you gave me that condo for free.
a free condo. a really nice one at that. you wouldn’t take it? really?
They don’t care about the community. It’s ALL about MONEY. These people are steady moving lifelong citizens out of their areas what they have worked so hard for.
If Inglewood residents were allowed to VOTE on the stadium project, they would have better understand all that it came with besides the money. Traffic, poorly planned permit parking program that still isn’t fully implemented and most importantly the disturbance of their quality of life.
I used to live in Inglewood about 45 yrs ago and worked there also. I liked walking to work and seeing all that was happening. When I heard they were putting in a “forum” for sports I was glad for that It would bring in more money for businesses etc. I am sorry that it is causing problems now. Just keep praying that it will eventually calm down. God bless
Did u bother to interview anyone from our community? You are wrong on several facts as your articles continuously shows a bias and not the facts.
Yes I have and just like you, they chose to remain anonymous.
