COMPTON – A newly elected Compton councilman is facing domestic violence allegations from his sister.
Compton Councilman Andre Spicer is alleged to have gotten into a fight with his sister on a personal matter.
Screenshots of a conversation between Spicer and his niece have circulated around social media where he appears to justify what he did and stating he would “do it again”.
The fight was alleged to occur hours before the last city council meeting held July 26, and a temporary restraining order was granted July 28.
Spicer became the councilman after the former councilman Isaac Galvan was involved in personal matters related to an FBI raid and his alleged involvement in the shooting death of his son’s uncle.
Galvan also had professional issues where he got into a fight during a conference for contract cities several years ago.
Because of Galvan’s personal and professional issues, coupled with voter fraud allegations, the court moved at warp speed to remove him from the dais.
A superior court judge ultimately sided with Spicer, naming him the rightful winner of the election after he successfully challenged the validity of several votes.
The council is dark during the month of August and neither Spicer nor other members of the council have issued any official statements on the matter. Spicer has been in office less than three months.
He is due back in court Aug. 19.
