LOS ANGELES – Central Basin Municipal Water District Board Member Leticia Vasquez-Wilson received a favorable ruling in an ongoing matter with the agency. The ruling relates to videos Vasquez-Wilson made that the agency claimed she didn’t have permission to use the agencies name without its permission. Judge Michael Stern reaffirmed the case’s dismissal and entered his judgement July 27.
The issue revolved around letters and videos made by Vasquez that she sent to local municipalities encouraging them to purchase their water from Central Basin. The court determined that at no time was Vasquez speaking on behalf of the entire board, nor was she engaging in “branding” when she identified herself in the videos and letters as a member of its board nor could the agency provide any evidence of the contrary.
