LONG BEACH – One person was killed Thursday in a one-car collision in Long Beach.
The collision was reported at 2:05 a.m. at Wardlow Road and the southbound Long Beach (710) Freeway where the vehicle went off the freeway into an embankment and struck a tree.
The driver of the vehicle was trapped inside and was pronounced dead at the scene, Kimball said.
The crash closed all lanes of the southbound freeway except for the No. 1 lane.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
