Airbnb has confirmed that they are permanently banning parties from its rental locations after many homes have become nuisances on the communities they are located in.
At Airbnb, we believe the neighborhoods and communities in which we operate are as important as the Hosts and guests who use our service. We know that the overwhelming majority of our Hosts share their homes responsibly, just as the overwhelming majority of guests are responsible and treat their listings and neighborhoods as if they were their own.
In turn, we focus on trying to deter the very rare cases of Hosts who do not operate responsibly, or guests who try to throw unauthorized parties. To that end, in August 2020 we announced a temporary ban on all parties and events in listings globally — which at the time was in effect “until further notice.”
The temporary ban has proved effective, and today we are officially codifying the ban as our policy.

This action comes on the heels of an unregulated Airbnb rental in Inglewood, CA, that became the site of a mass shooting that left four dead weeks before the city hosted Super Bowl 56.
A coalition funded in part by the hospitality industry asked Inglewood to create an ordinance that requires rentals to be hosted, however, the City has unveiled a tiered system that allows for both hosted and unhosted rentals.
The City is expected to formally adopt its Short-Term Rental Ordinance during the June 28 regular city council meeting.

The overwhelming “irony” with this action is that EVERY AIRBNB offering I have ever seen (and I have spent more than 300 nights in them) all stipulate “…no parties…”
Airbnb just announced they are officially banned in all of their rentals.
