LOS ANGELES – A woman was shot Sunday outside her apartment building in South Los Angeles and the shooter remains at large. South LA is averaging a shooting a day, with no clear plan on how the uptick in crime in Councilman Marqueece Harris-Dawson’s district will be addressed.
The shooting happened outside an apartment building at Vermont Avenue and 65th Street about 5:50 p.m., according to Los Angeles police Sgt. Rick Rodgers.
The woman was hit in the shoulder and taken by paramedics to a hospital, Rodgers said.
She refused to cooperate with police, Rodgers said. So, officers do not know a motive for the shooting and have no suspect description.
