COMPTON – The Compton City Council has a new representative for Council District 2 after a Los Angeles Superior Court judge overturned the results of the June 2021 General Election.
Andre Spicer was declared the winner after the judge found four illegal votes were cast for Isaac Galvan. Galvan and another candidate are alleged to have conspired to register people at a Compton address to ensure a victory for Galvan.
The initial election results saw one vote separate Galvan and Spicer.
Spicer took to social media to announce he would be sworn in May 31 in council chambers at 1pm.
The judge’s ruling came mid-day May 27 after the public learned Galvan’s council liaison was arrested on murder charges. Unconfirmed reports attach Galvan to those charges.
There has been no official statement from the City on the matter.
