COMMERCE – Central Basin Municipal Water District’s lawsuit against a member of its Board is moving forward.
A motions hearing is scheduled in the water districts lawsuit against Leticia Vasquez for May 16.
The suit alleges Vasquez unilaterally used the district’s name in posting videos and also utilized its letterhead to send
messages, violations of the district’s administrative code that requires prior permission from the general manager.
In response, the water district censured Vasquez in May 2021.
Vasquez was also caught in controversy surrounding an invoice submitted by Dallas Fowler, for alleged consulting work performed to defeat a measure aimed at dissolving the board. The agency changed general managers during the time Fowler alleged she was hired by Vasquez and Martha Camacho Rodriguez without the boards approval or an executed contract for services.
