INGLEWOOD – The California Highway Patrol is stressing driver safety this Memorial Day weekend after an automobile was driving unsafely on the 405 freeway resulting in a devastating accident with the driver needing to be extricated.
CHP West LA officers responded to a single vehicle traffic collision on the I-405 Fwy x La Cienega Blvd off-ramp (south of Manchester Blvd.) this morning. Officers learned the vehicle was traveling at an unsafe speed while also driving on the right shoulder, prior to colliding into a guardrail, then concrete wall.
Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and conducted extrication operations on the trapped party in the vehicle. Thank you Engine 18, Quint and Squad 161, and Light Force 170.
Please allow this post to remind everybody of the dangers associated with driving too fast and driving impatiently. Speed kills. Distracted driving kills. Driving impatiently kills. Please drive to arrive.
