TORRANCE – A pedestrian who was fatally injured in a hit-and-run crash in Torrance was identified Thursday.
Sierra Arellanes, 32, is the person who was killed in the collision, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office.
Arellanes was injured about 1 a.m. Wednesday at Pacific Coast Highway and Calle Mayor, and died at the scene, the Torrance Police Department reported.
“As the investigation continued, officers located video surveillance of the suspect vehicle,” Torrance police Sgt. Mark Ponegalek said in a statement. “Later on, the Torrance Police Department was contacted by a relative of the suspect regarding the traffic collision.”
Kevin Torres-Valencia, 20, of Wilmington was then arrested by officers on suspicion of felony hit and run, Ponegalek said.
“There is no indication the suspect was impaired during this incident,” Ponegalek said.
