It’s time you start talking to the Library Board about how badly the Inglewood Public Library is being run. The City refuses to hire a director. The people currently in charge, don’t believe you need librarians to run libraries. They are about to start a renovation of the Main Library and the CIty isn’t consulting with any Library Professionals/Consultants.
The City plans to use the same architect who designed the Senior Center. Who knows where the $ is coming from.
Why isn’t there a Library Foundation or Board who is going after money and doing fundraising? Will there be any special collection areas? The City is currently using one vendor which is insane. We used to order from specialized vendors for various media, books, etc. The library systems have all been switched, and the staff is unhappy they didn’t purchase all the modules.
Councilman Eloy Morales worked at the Library many years ago and made sure his friend, Isaac was hired. We had great candidates but were told we had no choice. Isaac and Eloy grew up together, both worked at the library over 20 years ago. After being hired as a supervisor, a new position was created for Isaac and he now makes more $ than most Librarians! The current library manager is a great person but just so you know, her husband’s cousin is Eloy.
Please contact members of the Library Board, which should be a commission not just an advisory group. Please find out when the next Board meeting is and publish it in your newsletter (I think it’s the 4th Wed of the month). The residents need to be informed of how badly the library is being treated and that nobody cares. It’s an insult to the industry.
IPL used to be the best library in South Bay and now it is by far the worse. I would never encourage anyone to work there or use it.

Yawn… The library is better run now, with the “retirement” of the cackling witch who bullied and abused staff for over a DECADE. Sounds like a disgruntled ignoramus must’ve sent this crap in.
This false expose comes from systemic paranoid misogyny aimed at female library employees especially librarians, but without surveillance or scrutiny of male employees. The “cackling witch” is, naturally, a WOMAN accused of unspecified bullying and “abuse of staff for over a DECADE”. Where were the failed HR, the lavishly compensated city manager, and the paid department head appointed caretaker library director for a decade? Were spells/magic/witchcraft used to control these fearful people?
Anti-woman workplace bullying including age and race bias, used intimidation, retaliation, stalking, verbal attacks, fist jabs, etc., without penalty. Bullying was actually rewarded. No woman or witch would have escaped immediate expulsion and prosecution for a fraction of this disgraceful behavior.
The library was a hostile, risky, dysfunctional environment for female librarians except for nepotism hires. The fabrication here is pure propaganda.
Female employees underestimate the advantages for men of strong workplace alliances. Benefits include preferential hiring, higher salaries, promotions and personal access to decision makers.
The workplace is built on broad gender disparities (excludes/penalizes women elevates men), retaliation, disinformation, informants, nepotism, cronyism, culturism, male opportunism and private deals. Transparency accountabily, fairness and truth are avoided.
All privileged employees, especially men, routinely leverage personal relationships for private gain in this tightly controlled biased workplace under the management of very highly compensated city bosses.
