INGLEWOOD – The Inglewood Police Department is requesting a one-year extension with Hawthorne Police Department, with the option for an additional year, for “high profile” events.
Inglewood initially approved an agreement with HPD July 14, 2021, for $500,000 with a police officer reimbursement rate of $85 / hour.
The agreement calls for the City to reimburse Hawthorne, for any level of officer providing services to Inglewood, at the agreed upon police officer rate. The new agreement calls for increased rates for FY 2022-2023 at $105 / hour, which will remain in effect until September 30, 2023.
The staff report also requests $300,000 from the City’s reserves be used to increase the budget line to cover current/future invoices. The total contract amount is expected to not exceed $2.1 million, despite the City allotting an additional $1 million to the contract without identifying where the funds would come from.
A records request to the city of Hawthorne yielded 27 invoices billed to Inglewood Police Department, between 7/17/2021 and 1/2/2002 cost Inglewood taxpayers $560,000.
Invoices detail Hawthorne is biling Inglewood roughly 30 days after service has been provided.
The City continues to evade releasing documents, requested under Freedom of Information and CA Public Records Act, for the agreement between the City and Hollywood Park Management Co. for police services which Butts said “would eventually” be reimbursed.
The City is roughly spending an additional $450,000 per month on outside police services (Hawthorne, CHP, Sheriff) related to “high profile” special events. On the other hand, residents are getting “taxed” and “extra fees” up the ass all in the name of “progress”?
The math aint mathin’ Jimmy.

Are we surprised?
Does anyone believe Numbers are a “NEW” challenge for James Butts?
Hasn’t he has mastered the “From each (resident) no matter their minimum life need, to each (Butts donor/ devotee) according to their massive GREED.?
There is that pesky little problem that it isn’t his money that makes the philosophy an issue for Inglewood residents.
Consider this part of our reality- James BUTTS a Former Police Chief who should be able to distinguish between Truth and Lies said there would be NO PUBLIC money spent on the stadium – and yet:
Our employees do the landscaping work around the sofi lake at on our payroll
Our employees (code enforcement/public works) put up and take down street closure signs
Our employees (Police are working long beyond 40 hours to help fans feel safe
Our $25,000 (no matter which account) was used to buy lunches for the law enforcement officers on Super Bowl weekend, while our parents pay fees for recreation programs.
Our Federal, State, and Local dollars are being spent on the plans, attorneys and consultant services to bring the overhead transit aka Monorail system for the benefit of Kroenke along Market Street, Manchester and Prairie (No kidding the Federal money and State money is our tax dollars).
Our dollars were spent using eminent domain to empty the parcels of businesses and residents which Ballmer is building on.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Both Barbara Ono and Wanda Brown have sounded the alarm and rather than put out the financial fire storm BUTTS and Co have instead added more and more fuel to that financial storm.
The nearly paid for pension bond on our tax bills was extended a few more decades!
There have been many examples of not minding the dollars and probably more to come but golly molly as long as people are unwilling to remove their blinders and own the reality of this one man and “his team” being responsible for the deteriorating quality of life for Inglewood residents while we pay more and more – name recognition and a few less than ethical Election and Hiring practices will keep him in office until either the FBI or God Himself says that is the final straw.
Here’s a few sticking points
The City Council aka the ButtTeam SHOULD NOT be borrowing from Inglewood Resident RESERVES (this is not an emergency it is mismanagement) Inglewood Residents SHOULD NOT be Experiencing DIMINISHED SERVICES to pay the bills for police services to benefit Kroenke or his other non-profit buddies.
-Kroenke should have been required to make a significant deposit into a continuously replenished set aside “for police/security services account” sufficient enough to draw against each payroll period.
Inglewood resident water fees should not go up because Billionaires want to bring 100’s of thousands here to add to their pockets as they flush our limited natural resources away.
Inglewood residents should not be paying for lawsuits filed because Butts doesn’t like residents utilizing free speech rights about public property and documents ie the Tixiera case…BUTTS knew better and he should reimburse the city for that bully maneuver!, (But now at least other people far and wide know he is acting like a third world dictator even if his fan club won’t admit it)
Inglewood residents should not be paying for attorneys for Butts irresponsible driving in OUR CAR anywhere…
Butts receives a pension of $231,000.00 from Santa Monica plus $111,000.00 salary from Inglewood = THERE IS NO REASON FOR HIM NOT TO OWN AND USE HIS OWN CAR EVERYDAY ANYWHERE HE GOES. And no Our employees should be working not going along as company for him to attend conferences.
The audacity to say he would accept responsibility for that left on a red light accident and then use attorneys charging Inglewood residents instead.!!! Is his character quality showing in the misuse of city property and denial of personal responsibility?
AND Now he is wanting to sanction OUR ELECTED treasurer!!!
Shame not on Him (those personality disorders should be diagnosed) shame on the Bobblehead – Rubber Stamping Team members who voted in agreement with him …and ..More ridiculousness SHAME ON VOTERS if any of these go alongs are ever elected to any position ever again !!!!
