INGLEWOOD – The Los Angeles County coroner’s office Sunday released the name of a 39-year-old man who was found shot to death in Inglewood.
The victim was identified as Dejuan Freeman of Inglewood.

The shooting was reported at 7:23 a.m. Saturday at 452 N. Edgewood Street, said Lt. Neal Cochran of the Inglewood Police Department.
Paramedics pronounced Freeman dead at the scene, Cochran said.
This is the city’s 8th murder this year. Residents continue to ask elected officials what can be done to curb the uptick in crime in the city.
“You think that the Mayor and police department can stop Black people from killing Black people,” wrote Mayor Butts on social media.
The mayor campaigns on his nearly four decades of law enforcement experience as a determining factor in his ability to handle crime. The residents feel more vigor was put into tracking down a suspect, in the shooting of an alleged off-duty officer, than the residents.
Anyone with information about the death was asked to call homicide detectives at 310-412-5246 or the 24-hour anonymous tip line at 888-41-CRIME (888-412-7463).

Isn’t it interesting that James Butts routinely brings up his life-time career in Law enforcement as the reason we should all think he is the best option since sliced bread to ensure safety and security and then declares the Mayor can’t stop crime?
Of course another significant expression of his philosophy is that he doesn’t think the police department can stop “Black People” from killing “Black People”…….what? it wasn’t as if we misheard that – it was in print coming from his account!…. Can anyone else imagine his response if those words came out of the mouth of a “white” man? Isn’t this the same face that has claimed being discriminated against and claims those who disagree with him do so because of Klan affiliation?
……we would not be tolerant and might even boycott a store chain if an employee made wide sweeping comments about “Black Shoppers” as opposed to non-minority shopper etiquette …why do we re-elect anyone who says such racist things? ESPECIALLY when the people he is supposed to SERVE are largely BLACK and BROWN ! !
As for the idea that ALL communities have homicides regularly …please check statistics…you will discover homicide is not the normal way disputes are settled.
