HOLLYWOOD – “The Tinder Swindler” was the most-streamed English-language movie on Netflix for the second consecutive week, with viewers spending 64.7 million hours watching the true crime documentary in its first full week of release, 41.3% more than the 45.8 million hours watched the previous week when it was available for five days.
The romantic comedy “Tall Girl 2” was second with 27.44 million hours watched in its first three days of release, according to figures released Tuesday by the streaming service.
There were two other films in addition to “Tall Girl 2” in the latest top 10 that were not in the previous week’s.
The 2019 adventure comedy “Dora and the Lost City of Gold” was seventh with 8.75 million hours watched. “The Power of the Dog” cracked the top 10 for the first time since the week of Dec. 6-12, finishing ninth with 5.46 million hours watched in the week the film received a leading 12 Oscar nominations, including best picture.
Dropping out of the top 10 were the 2009 science fiction action film “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” the romantic comedy “The Royal Treatment” and the 2019 independent romantic comedy “Can You Keep a Secret?”
Netflix’s most popular television program was “Inventing Anna,” with viewers spending 58.15 million hours watching the nine-episode limited series about a reporter (Anna Chlumsky) investigating an Instagram-legendary German heiress (Julia Garner) who stole the hearts of New York’s social scene and their money in its first three days of release.
The 10-episode second season of “Sweet Magnolias” rose three spots to second in its first full week of release with 58.15 million hours watched, 35.2% more than the 43 million hours watched the previous week when the romantic drama was available for three days of release.
There were three other programs in addition to “Inventing Anna” in the latest top 10 not in the previous week’s.
The 10-epsiode second season of the dating series “Love Is Blind” was seven with 21.78 million hours watched in its first three days of release.
The 10-episode first season of “Sweet Magnolias” was eighth with 21.64 million hours watched.
The 10-episode fourth part of the animated satirical fantasy “Disenchantment” was ninth with 17.09 million hours watched in its first five days of release.
Dropping out of the top 10 were the first, second and third seasons of the crime drama “Ozark” and the fourth season of the USA Network police procedural anthology “The Sinner.”
